Participants can only participate in 1 laparoscopic workshop plus a TUR or URS. Times and dates are allocated by the ESU office. Please note that places for the TUR and URS are very limited.

As an essential part of the European Urology Residents Education Programme (EUREP) in Prague, intensive hands-on training will be delivered. This year’s programme consists of hands-on interaction with state-of-the-art equipment in laparoscopy, ureteroscopy (URS) and transurethral resection (TUR) -all of which are sponsored by Olympus.
The workshops provide participants with unique opportunities to train basic and more advanced laparascopic and endoscopic techniques under expert supervision. Thanks to the intense “one-on-one” training concept (one station , one trainee, one tutor), a fast learning effect can be expected.
The courses in laparoscopy will be individually adapted to the trainee’s experience level. Basic techniques will be trained in a dedicated step-by-step programme , including intracorporeal suturing. Intermediate training with complex tasks (namely E-LUS step 2: pyeloplasty, major vessel injury repair, VU anastomosis, Hilum dissection) are available for participants who already achieved E-BLUS certification (or equivalent: FLS, PLUS, BLUS).
The training curriculum for the ureteroscopy workshop is designed by Prof. Olivier Traxer of Tenon Hospital, Paris. Residents will learn about the proper use of flexible ureteroscopes using a variety of stone disposables in order to remove kidney stones.
In exercises 1 and 2 you will be given the chance to train your navigation skills with flexible and rigid cystoscopes. In exercises 3 and 4 you will focus on semi-rigid and flexible ureteroscopes and their operative channels. During the training session you will be pre-evaluated by your Hands on training URS tutor who will suggest whether or not to take part in the EST s1 examination on-site.
The course in transurethral resection of the prostate gives residents the great opportunity to learn more about the basics of high-frequency surgery, the instruments needed, as well as tips and tricks for daily surgery.
